These terms are an agreement between you and Argusis Technology Inc. ("we", "us"), the company that makes Euphemo. By using Euphemo, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy at https://learneuphemo.com/privacy.

1. Who can use Euphemo

You must be at least 18 years old. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens in your account.

2. What Euphemo is, and what it isn't

Euphemo is an English practice app: lessons, reviews, speaking practice, a dictionary, an AI coach and exam practice.

• No guaranteed results. Practice helps, but we can't promise any level, accent, test result or outcome for a visa, job or application.
• AI makes mistakes. AI replies and corrections can be wrong. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, immigration or financial decisions.
• Exam practice. AI feedback on exam tasks is a practice estimate shown as a range, not a test result. Only the official test gives an official result.
• Not affiliated. Euphemo isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the owners of CELPIP, IELTS or any other test. Test names are used only to describe what the practice is for.
• Speech recognition. A "Recognized" result shows which words the speech recognizer matched. It doesn't assess your pronunciation.

3. Free plan, trial and subscriptions

• Free plan: works on your device without an account, with limited content. It doesn't include sync or the AI coach.
• Free trial: new subscribers may get a free trial (currently 7 days). Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it turns into a paid subscription.
• Subscriptions: a subscription gives the full plan for its period (monthly or yearly). The price is shown before you confirm.
• App Store and Google Play purchases:
• Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: for App Store and Google Play purchases, Apple and Google decide refunds under their own policies. For purchases made on our website, contact us at [supportEmail to be added].
• Price changes: if a price changes, we or the store will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel.
• Codes: a Euphemo promo code gives the full plan for the time stated. Codes have no cash value and can't be resold.
• Add-ons: you can buy one-off extras, such as a pack of extra AI practice estimates or an extra mock test set. They don't renew. Estimate credits are used only after your plan's monthly estimates, a credit used on an estimate that fails is given back, and credits can't be exchanged for money. An extra mock set stays available while you have an account. Refunds work as above for the store you paid through.

These terms don't take away rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.

4. AI coach allowance

The AI coach has weekly allowances (shown as "coach time"), so that the plan can stay affordable. Lessons, reviews and the daily practice never need coach time. We may adjust allowances fairly. If we lower them, we'll tell you in the app first.

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

• use Euphemo to break the law, harass anyone, or create harmful, hateful or sexual content involving minors;
• try to get around allowances, limits or security, or overload our systems;
• copy, scrape, resell or redistribute our lessons, exam practice or other content;
• reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
• share your account with other people.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why first.

6. Your content

Your notes, messages, writing and recordings belong to you. You let us process them only to provide Euphemo to you: for example, to sync your notes, or to send your message to the AI coach for a reply. Recordings stay on your device (see the Privacy Policy).

If you report an AI reply or a content problem, you let us use the report to improve Euphemo.

7. Our content

Euphemo's lessons, exam practice, design, mascot and software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use them for your own learning while you use the app.

The dictionary uses open data under its licences. The credits and licence texts are on the About screen.

8. Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features and content. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, we'll tell you, and you can cancel. We try to keep Euphemo available, but we can't promise it will always work without interruption.

9. Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the extent the law allows:

• Euphemo is provided "as is".
• We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.
• Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Euphemo and delete your account at any time (Profile > Account and sync > Delete my account). We may end these terms if you seriously break them.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This doesn't take away the protection of mandatory laws where you live.

12. App Store terms

If you got Euphemo from Apple's App Store:

• these terms are between you and us, not Apple;
• Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app;
• Apple isn't responsible for claims about the app (for example, product liability or legal compliance);
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them;
• you must also follow the App Store's usage rules [verify against Apple's current standard EULA requirements].

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Euphemo after that, you accept the new terms.
